Hope Church believes that because God is rich in mercy, He sent His Son to save sinners like us.
He invites everyone to know Him through faith in Jesus and to receive eternal life. Therefore,
our mission is “engage people with the gospel of grace, embrace them in a community of grace,
equip them to live by the power of grace, so that together we may exalt and enjoy the God of
grace.” If you are searching for a church, examining your worldview, or exploring the claims of
Jesus, we would love to talk with you!
What we believe can be summarized in response to the following questions:

Who is God?
We believe there is one God who is three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is infinite,
eternal, and unchangeable, as well as holy, loving, wise, just, good, and all-powerful. He alone
created the universe out of nothing and rules over it.

Who are we?
We believe God created people male and female in His own image. Mankind was created upright
but rebelled against God. All of us are now born as sinners (Romans 3:23), which means we are
not perfect like God and are inclined to do what’s wrong. Because God is holy and just, the
wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

How can we be in a relationship with God?

We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of God who became man. He died on the cross to take
the punishment we deserve. After three days, he rose again to give life to everyone who believes
in him. John 3:16 tells us, “Whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Do we need to do anything to receive eternal life?
Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your
own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” We are saved
by grace alone in Jesus Christ alone, and we receive this through faith alone. When Jesus saves
us, he also gives us the Holy Spirit and makes us new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). While
we’re not saved by what we do, we are equipped to do good works (see Ephesians 2:10).

What about the future?
We believe that after his resurrection, Jesus ascended back into heaven. We believe he is coming
again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the resurrection of the dead and that those
who are saved will rise to eternal life and those that are lost to eternal punishment.

Where do our beliefs come from?
We believe that the Bible “is breathed out by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). That means that while God
used human authors to write it, they wrote what He wanted them to write. We believe in the infallibility of the Bible, as well as its authority and sufficiency in the life of the believer and in
its truth with regards to the world.

What is the church called to do?
Because of His great love, God sent Jesus to save us. And because of His love, He has called the
church to share this good news with everyone, telling us to make disciples of all nations
(Matthew 28:19). In fact, the two greatest commandments are related to love. We’re to love God
with all our hearts, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:34-40).

Where can I learn more about what you believe?
We are part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a reformed denomination that
believes the Westminster Confession of Faith, Larger Catechism, and Shorter Catechism
faithfully summarize key doctrines taught by the Bible.
